Step into our hot shop and create a piece of glass art, guided by one of our glassblowers from start to finish. Whether you choose an ornament, a paperweight, a heart, or a pumpkin, the piece you make is entirely your own; no two ever turn out exactly alike.

How it Works
From the gallery to the hot shop, here is what to expect.
1. Choose Your Piece
Your experience begins up front in the gallery, where you will decide what you would like to create and choose all the details, including your colors.
2. Meet Your Artist
You will head back to the hot shop to meet your glassblower, who will gather and shape the molten glass while walking you through what is about to happen.
3. Bring It to Life
When it is your turn, you will step behind the line and blow into the pipe to inflate your piece. This step determines the final size and shape of your glass art. You may be surprised how different every piece turns out, even when two people choose the exact same design.
4. Pick Up Your Piece
Glass needs time to cool slowly and safely. Your finished piece will be ready for pickup at the gallery in 7 to 10 days. We will let you know when it

Paperweight
Choose from an orb, egg, or heart shape. A beautiful, weighty piece that looks as good on a desk as it does on a shelf.
Cost: $50 per person plus tax
Pumpkin
A seasonal favorite that has become a Karg signature. Available year-round, not just in the fall.

A private, immersive glassblowing experience.
Hands-On: One-on-One Workshops
For those who want to go further than a single piece, our One-on-One Workshops offer a more in-depth, personalized glassblowing experience. You will work directly with one of our artists for an extended session, with more time, more creative control, and a deeper introduction to the craft. One-on-One Workshops are currently available with Sam Bland.
Beginner Workshop: You will create a paperweight from start to finish (1 hour/person, 2 people max)
Advanced Workshop: You will create a paperweight and a cup from start to finish (1 hour/person, 2 people max)
Custom Workshop: Work one-on-one with Sam to create a custom piece.

Group and Private Events
Blow Your Own is one of the most popular group experiences at Karg — perfect for birthdays, bachelorette parties, corporate team building, and family celebrations. Everyone creates their own piece, guided by our glassblowers, for an experience no one will forget.
Groups of up to 9 can book just like an individual; choose your time, reserve your spots, and show up ready to create.
Once a group reaches 10 or more, it becomes a private event. Private events include exclusive use of the space for your group, plus the option to schedule after-hours* if you would prefer your own dedicated time outside regular gallery hours.
*All after-hours private events are available for a flat fee of $200, in addition to the cost of each guest's individual piece.

Karg's hot shop is a working studio, and our artists are often blowing glass right in front of you. While we cannot guarantee a glassblower will be working during your visit, you can book a private demonstration through the gallery.

Yes, Blow Your Own is a popular choice for birthdays, team building, and family celebrations. We consider 10 or more people a group.
For groups, there is an option for after-hours scheduling if you would prefer your own dedicated time outside regular gallery hours.
All after-hours private events are available for a flat fee of $200, in addition to the cost of each guest's individual piece.

Must be 5 years or older. Everyone must wear closed-toed shoes and dress for the weather, as the hot shop is not temperature-controlled.

Pieces are available for pickup 7 to 10 days after your class. Shipping is available and can be prepaid.

No experience is needed. Our glassblowers handle the technical and dangerous parts of the process. You will select your shape, colors, and style, then you will simply step in at the right moment, blow into the pipe, and bring your piece to life.

Closed-toed shoes are required. The hot shop is not temperature controlled, so dress for the weather outside as well.

Plan for about 15 to 20 minutes in the gallery to choose your piece and colors, followed by 10 to 15 minutes per person in the hot shop.

Yes. Blow Your Own classes are by appointment only. We recommend booking in advance, especially during busy seasons.
