Fused Glass Artists & Teachers
The Fusion by Susan Fusing Studio at Karg Art Glass is led by Susan Wright, who brought her vision to Karg Art Glass and launched the studio’s fusing program in 2023.
What began with suncatchers has expanded to include ornaments, pendants, dishes, and a growing variety of fused-glass projects.
Today, Susan and the Fusion by Susan team offer classes for all skill levels, specialty workshops, drop-in opportunities, and youth summer camps that culminate in a gallery show. Along the way, they’ve built a welcoming community for people who want to learn, experiment, and create with glass.
Susan Wright
Inspired by a love of light and color, Susan Wright began working with stained glass in the early 1980s. After stepping away to focus on family and career, she rediscovered her passion through fused glass at a local farmer’s market. One class was all it took; she was captivated, and her fusing journey began.
For over 16 years, Susan has honed her craft, learning from artists across the region. A retired middle school math teacher, she shared her love of glass with students and colleagues, and teaching as well as creating remains central to her work today.
Susan especially loves working with groups—corporate, school, church, and families—creating shared experiences through glass. The Fusing Membership Program has also built a vibrant community of artists and friends, many of whom now display and sell their work in the gallery.
For Susan, the greatest blessing has been the people she’s met along the way. From first-time creators to seasoned artists, each has added meaning to her journey.

Nina Brainard
Nina Brainard is a fused glass artist who has been working at Karg for over two years. She enjoys creating glass pieces that incorporate her interests or pay homage to artwork she admires. Nina is currently in her third year of college, studying International Relations and Communication, and when she is not fusing, she enjoys working in other mediums such as pottery.
Anna Toews
Anna Toews has been fusing glass at Karg Art Glass for over a year, studying under Susan Wright and developing her skills in fused glass. Her work focuses on creating one-of-a-kind mosaics, inspired by the belief that sometimes shattered pieces just need a little light to reveal their true beauty.
