Friday, October 16

Botanicals

Create a richly layered botanical still life or landscape while exploring a variety of fused-glass techniques and materials.

Alysa will guide students through composition, color, texture, and construction as they design a piece inspired by flowers, foliage, landscapes, or other natural forms. This workshop is a great opportunity to experiment with combining techniques in a single finished design.

Time: 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
Cost: $240, lunch included

Saturday, October 17

Mastering on Edge

Explore the striking possibilities of working with glass on edge to create a dimensional, design-driven piece.

Students will focus on layout, pattern, color relationships, and construction techniques used to create an on-edge composition. Alysa will demonstrate how careful planning and glass placement can produce intricate patterns and dramatic visual depth.

Time: 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
Cost: $230, lunch included

Sunday, October 18

Art in Flight: Birds

Learn how to create realistic, three-dimensional birds using glass paints, frit, and specialized fused-glass techniques.

Alysa will walk students through building form, adding detail and color, and creating the movement and character that bring these sculptural birds to life. This workshop combines glass fusing with more illustrative and dimensional techniques for a very different kind of finished piece.

Time: 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
Cost: $190, lunch included

Hosted by Fusion by Susan

These special workshops are presented by Fusion by Susan at Karg Art Glass. Susan discovered Alysa’s work firsthand while taking two of her classes at the Glass Craft & Bead Expo in Las Vegas and was impressed by both her artistry and her ability to teach. Now she’s bringing Alysa to Kechi for three days of learning, experimenting, and creating.
